Hi. I’m Nicola.
I’m originally from the UK and now make art in my studio in Wellington, New Zealand. I aim to make joyful art inspired by my love of mark-making and intense colour.
My art is an extension of my previous career as a successful print designer. I used to sell my textile designs to globally recognised brands including Marc Jacobs, Disney and Calvin Klein.
I’ve developed my approach through many years of practice. I layer various media to build depth, texture and tactility. A single artwork can consist of up to 60 layers of print and paint. Each is a one-off and impossible to replicate.
They are truly original pieces of art.
